Ytterbium-doped Fiber Amplifier Operation Demo
It’s a Ytterbium-doped Fiber Amplifier. The front panel has LCD display and control buttons. There is an RS232 interface on the back, which can be connected to a computer and controlled by software.
In APC control mode, the output power can be adjusted. In ACC control mode, the operating current can be adjusted. The ACC/APC mode can be switched by the button. The working current and output power can be adjusted separately. Let’s check it now.
Ytterbium-doped fiber amplifier (YDFA) generates gain by pumping ytterbium-doped fiber with a semiconductor laser to amplify laser signals in the 1030~1100nm band, Hi1060 single-mode fiber or PM980 polarization-maintaining fiber output, the output power is continuously adjustable, with high gain and low The advantages of noise. The desktop YDFA is convenient for experimental operation, and the user can adjust the pump current and output power through the buttons on the front panel. It also provides a more compact modular YDFA, which is convenient for users’ system integration.
ACC mode – automatic current control: the YDFA pumping current is set by the user, and the YDFA is automatically locked to achieve a constant pump current. When the input optical power fluctuates, the output power will also fluctuate accordingly.
APC mode – automatic power control: the user sets the YDFA signal light output power, PD automatically monitors and feeds back the output power, YDFA control and self-adaptive adjustment of the pump to achieve the stability of the output signal. When the input optical power fluctuates, the APC mode will minimize the output power fluctuation.
