Built to produce three optic signals with three specific light wavelengths, 3 channel WDM is often used to achieve bidirectional transmissions of voice, video and data in optical fiber communication networks. Typically, this 3 channel WDM is designed to filter signals carried by lights at three wavelengths: 1310nm, 1490nm, and1550nm. The optical multiplexer also comes with filters and collimators.
